What is Healthy Living?

I mean really. I wake up in the morning in an area almost outside metro-Atlanta, but the air still is bad. I shower in chemically tainted water (chlorine) and my skin winds up being ultra dry as a result. The best lotion for me to counteract that is St. Ives Extra Relief Collagen Elastin and its very good, but what is all that stuff in it?
I then drive 45 miles to work. I have considered community transportation and during the weeks I am not on call, I will do so. I spend 40-50 hours per week in downtown Atlanta. By far not the worse air I’ve had to endure, but definitely not the best either. I am always clogged in my nostrils daily because of all the junk that is filtered out.
I enjoy eating at restaurants, but what exactly is in the food? Where is made, grown, harvested, or processed? What was it feed during its time alive? What pesticides and rodent control procedures were used? Evident in the recent recall of tons of dog and cat food brands, all produced by the same company! What else do they produce? What other animal feeds contain the Chinese wheat that is the source of the poison? What human foodstuffs have it? Is any of the stuff in your cabinets, or at your favorite restaurant? Who knows.
Chemicals are so prevalent in our lives, it is hard to find something that doesn’t have any. Even some of the “Natural”, “All Natural” things contain chemicals. Yet and still, we walk by and see the label on the front without even a cursory inspection of the back of the package to see if its claims are true. Are you aware that not one federal agency will contest the “Natural” or “All Natural” on the front of the package as long as the back has the actual contents of it the item? Why? Because its considered advertising. Even so, are you aware that the Bush administration has tried for 6 years to remove that information? To remove the ability for you to see what you are eating! I am a Republican but that is just too far.
The next time you are out running 8 miles a day, pumping hard iron at the gym, cycling 40 miles, spending 30 minutes on the elliptical trainer, or just out for a brisk stroll in the woods, look at the back of bottle of flavored water and the energy bar you took before, during, or after working out. Was it worth it?
Let me know what you think.

Looking out for energy bar after doing some exercise, cycling or working out in gym is quite common but one should be careful in avoiding junk foods and soft drinks. Instead you can prefer mineral water or fresh juice. All the other steps described to live healthy life are useful to readers.
